Tilson Scaffolding Ltd has a wealth of experience erecting
temporary scaffold structures using the basic components of tube,
fittings and boards. No matter what size of contract, whether it be
for new build, refurbishment or a combination of both, Tilson have
the capability to design highly complicated structures to cater for
any requirement or to gain access to any area and erect them in a
safe efficient manner using a highly trained work force.
The size of projects that we are involved with
vary from, the construction of new retail outlet developments,
commercial buildings, multi residential building sites,
refurbishment of existing buildings, house extensions
& re-roofs.
Design
Information
We employ an external design consultant who carries out
temporary works designs using CAD drawing software. These are
capable of being sent via e-mail, fax or direct to a drawing office
or printers.

We will organise site and office visits to discuss design
requirements at tender and contract stages. We will endeavour to
produce drawings within 10 days of receiving the required
information.

CDM
Regulations
We comply with regulation 13 of the CDM regulations 1994. All
designs take into account health and safety and also keep risks to
a minimum. We also provide information relating to any hazardous
structures and substances encountered.

Estimating
Our Estimating Department utilises a recognised scaffold
estimating software package for producing estimates. We have a full
design and calculation input into all contracts, but we invariably
do not commit to design prior to an order being placed. Cost
savings are achieved by designing out problems spotted early and
detailed design is included to show exactly what would be included
in the trade contractor's packages.
Modular
Construction
Tilson Scaffolding Ltd utilise the sliding transom to meet the
challenge of fast track modular construction projects. The sliding
transom and Tilson’s methodology offers the ability to:
• erect a full height braceless scaffold; and
• make rapid, safe and efficient alterations to the scaffolds.
The sliding transom allows many trades to work on the scaffold
with minimum number of alterations.
The sliding transom and double arm system
The adjustable transom is a board bearing component, utilised by
Tilson Scaffolding Ltd to significantly enhance the efficiency of
alterations.
The adjustable inside board bearer used with double arms allows
boards to be removed without altering the main body of the
scaffold. On sheeted scaffolds this greatly enhances the aesthetic
appearance, as it does not result in tubes poking through
sheeting.
